Long Term Disability (LTD) Team Leader is responsible for providing auditing, training, and support to team members.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Acts as a facilitator/team leader/consultant for examiners and support staff and as an extension of leadership to Manager
  • Uses independent judgment and works under general directions
  • Facilitates Team Lead Office hours and provide claim direction and coaching to team members
  • Provides escalation call support, responsible for contacting claimants, customers and/or account management with complaint resolution in addition to follow up coaching with team members
  • Responsible for the timely handling of pending LTD claims.
The Team Leader has accountability for:
  • Ensuring team members are attending team lead office hours and/or round table
  • Ensuring team members are acting timely on pending claims and meeting our 3-day review turnaround time (TAT) and 45 decision timeliness
  • Tracking our pending claims and following up with team members for needed action steps to render a timely decision
  • Providing weekly updates to Managers on status of pending claims and escalation trends
  • Provides support to the Manager to ensure active claim management is being handled timely to include Change in Definition decisions and claim authorization reviews.
  • Provide Round-Table facilitation support
  • Provide claim project support as needed
  • May be responsible for any interaction with Department of Insurance, Legal and Information Systems as determined by business needs.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS preferably in related field and
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook is strongly preferred
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $25.04 to $45.07

Locations: California; Colorado; Nevada; Washington State; Jersey City, NJ; New York City, NY; Ithaca, NY and Westchester County, NY
