The Graduate School of Social Work seeks a detail-oriented individual to fill this role. This position will facilitate our Licensure Preparation Study Sessions and be responsible for the below duties.

Information on the Course

GSSW's Licensure Preparation Study Sessions help prepare participants for the ASWB social work licensing exam. The course includes thinking skills, test-taking strategies, how to approach the exam questions, and reviews each of the four primary knowledge/content areas:

  • Human development, diversity and behavior in the environment.
  • Assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Psychotherapy, clinical interventions and case management.
  • Professional ethics and values.

Expectations
  • Facilitate the Licensure Prep Course as established by the Graduate School of Social Work, to students, alumni, and community members.
  • Be available to facilitate the course both virtually and in-person, should the course transition back in-person when public health guidelines allow for this.
  • Engage in ongoing curriculum development for the Licensure Prep Course to ensure the quality of the curriculum. Identify and prioritize recommendations for the curriculum that are responsive to ASWB exam changes, updated licensure information, and participant needs.
  • Collaborate with other Licensure Prep Course facilitators on training, best practices, and course development.
  • Collaborate with the Licensure Prep Course management at GSSW on logistics for the course.
  • Have availability throughout the year for sessions. Sessions are generally held monthly, either over a Friday and Saturday, or in evenings through the week. One session may be scheduled over 2 or 3 days, depending on the needs of participants and facilitator schedules. One session is 10 hours in total, sectioned over different days. Note, the format and scheduling of the Licensure Prep Course is subject to change.
  • Respond in a timely manner with students, staff, and faculty regarding the course.

Required Qualifications
  • MSW.
  • LSW or LCSW in the state of Colorado.
  • Course or presentation facilitation experience.
  • Weekend availability.

Course Rate

For solo licensure prep course facilitation, the rate of pay is $825 for the session. For co-taught sessions, the rate of pay will be $550 per instructor, per session.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, available market information, and course enrollment, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
