Responsibilities

The Laboratory Technical Supervisor is primarily responsible for the specific section or discipline that he or she is assigned. Their technical expertise will serve as a resource to the technologists/ technicians and assistants within the department as well as the Physicians, Nurses and Patients who are our customers. They are the designated Subject Matter Experts in the discipline to which they are assigned. The Technical Supervisor is responsible for the analyzer operation, assay performance and supervision of staff within the section. They are also responsible for maintaining accreditation readiness within the department. Additional responsibilities include all Human Resource functions including scheduling, payroll, and performance evaluations, etc.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education

• Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or related subject.

Required Minimum Certification

• MT or equivalent from an accrediting agency approved by GDHR (ASCP, HEW, NCA, AMT, AAB or another agency approved by GDHR).

Required Minimum Certification

• Minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in laboratory medicine.

Preferred Minimum Certification

• Supervisory experience is preferred
