Position Summary:

Support operations at Eurofins DiscoverX San Diego by using data to manage Inventory and Procurement processes while providing administrative support. This position entails diverse operational and administrative functions, in the context of a contract research laboratory and requires initiative to maintain progress independently. The ideal candidate will have experience in all areas described.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
• Adheres to site employee health and safety (EHS) regulations

• Provides cross-functional support to other groups

Inventory and Order Management (30%)

• Prepare Inventory and Purchase order reports

• Maintain accuracy of Procurement and Inventory data

• Minimize the count of open invoices

• Develop methods of collecting and utilizing data to optimize inventory levels and ordering

• Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand the changing demands of daily operations and new projects

Supplier Management (20%)

• Resolve invoice disputes between the business unit and suppliers

• Research suppliers that will fulfill Eurofins requirements in a cost effective manner

• Develop methods of using order and inventory data to select the best suppliers

Shipping and Receiving (20%)

• Receive, unpack, and store material according to storage layout

• Map received materials to the inventory database using the receipt log

Warehouse Management (30%)

• Organize onsite storage space to keep inventory at operational levels and meet EHS Standards

• Communicate with lab staff to optimize the flow of inventory into high use areas

• Flag excess and obsolescent inventory for removal


Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.

Additional preferences:

Any inventory management & data entry experience is preferred. Experience working in a laboratory environment is desired

Ability and/or Skills (BMQ):

Must have exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs. Reliable and organized. Team-oriented individual with strong communication skills. Must be competent at receiving and transporting packages of all sizes & weights, whether through lifting alone, via cart or pallet jack, or through coordination with team members.

English literacy

Capable of arithmetic

Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
