Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Physical Inventory Specialist to join our team located in Salt Lake City, UT.

The position is responsible for administering and coordinating all tasks related to physical inventory and inventory control. This position will work under minimal supervision, applying established procedures and standards and is expected to gather information from various sources and recommend best solutions. The role may be assigned non-routine assignments that require a longer timeframe and may be required to handle sensitive information.

Physical Inventory Specialist ( 1st shift )

  • Manages the hardgoods physical inventory process for 600+ locations in the US & Canada
    • Maintains records to determine the number of physical inventories required for each location based on Sarbanes-Oxley criteria
    • Establishes annual inventory calendar & coordinates the location scheduling
    • Maintains the inventory procedure documentation
    • Coordinates pre-inventory training
    • Supports field during physical inventory process
    • Reviews inventory results to determine if they are within acceptable limits
    • Posts inventory in JDE system
    • Identifies and implements opportunities to improve and streamline the processes
  • Runs & analyzes monthly reports of inventory adjustments
  • Manages inventory adjustment requests and reserve usage
  • Understands regulatory requirements and ensures compliance
  • Works mailbox dealing with PO issues daily per schedule
  • Works mailbox dealing with min/max changes daily per schedule
  • Review and process inventory reports from legacy systems for acquired locations
  • Answers field questions on all Inventory Management aspects
  • Assists Accounts Payable with questions and coding
  • Partners with purchasing department to correct PO errors
  • Special projects as needed


  • High proficiency with both Excel and Access
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with process improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a local and remote team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work weekends, as required
  • High level of organizational and analytical skills
