Our client, a video game company, is seeking a Research Moderator to join the team.

Responsibilities:


Join the Insights discipline which is a group of researchers, analysts, data scientists, and strategists responsible for solving problems and executing analyses that enable team to make difficult decisions with confidence.
Work closely with the researchers supporting when they test new products and features with players
Assist in set up of test and survey designs for playtests
Understand research requirements and translate those into data pulls for recruiting players into playtests
Carry out research (scoped and written by Researchers) through usability studies, expert reviews, and playtests by moderating tests, observing users, taking notes and compiling observations into actionable results
Observe participants during playtests, take and compile notes
Assist researchers with the creation of clear, easily digestible research reports by compiling results
Assist with overall execution of user-tests including but not limited to the set up of all materials needed to run playtest, day-of set up and review of test products/features being tested in lab, participant facilitation, post lab clean ups
Work closely with the Playtest Operations team to coordinate the logistics and execution of research studies to ensure projects run smoothly, including scheduling, participant recruiting, and playtest moderation


Musts:


Min 6 months experience with user research or focus group moderation
Basic SQL or Python proficiency (or other equivalent language)
Experience with survey software of choice (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Question Pro, etc.)
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Your background in user research and moderation will ensure that playtests provide actionable player feedback to stakeholders


Pluses:


BA or BS in Psychology, Anthropology, Cognitive Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or a related discipline
Experience working in video game industry
Experience with game design fundamentals
Experience with game development production cycle
Experience running playtests or similar live-production research projects
Experience with Parsec or similar remote testing tool
