Examples of Work
The successful candidate will determine Title IV-E (Federal) or State funding for Children and Family Services foster care, subsidized guardianship, and adoption assistance program cases. Case openings will require organizing the documentation, review of the case information, and making a determination of Federal or State funding eligibility. They will maintain ongoing case management of the program cases for changes, reviews of eligibility, and respond to requests for information from foster parents, CFS Specialists, supervisors, administrators or auditors. Review and preparation of case records for peer to peer, quality assurance, state, and federal reviews will be required. They will also apply for Medicaid for State Wards.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: 24 semester hours of post high school education in behavioral sciences, public/business administration, social sciences, education or closely related field OR experience in customer service, determining eligibility for public assistance, examining/processing financial loan applications, medical or unemployment insurance or rehabilitation claims, unemployment services, OR a combination of education and experience in any of the above areas.

PREFERRED: Experience in the field of human services or case management. Demonstrated track record of exceeding productivity goals while multitasking in a fast paced work environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and able to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. Skilled in conflict resolution and the ability to adapt to changes quickly. Prior experience in an office setting and strong customer service skills are desired. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

OTHER: Bachelor's degree in social services work or related field is preferred, but may be substituted with at least 4 years work experience in Economic Assistance or Child Welfare Services, which would be ideal for this position. Knowledge of the N-FOCUS computer system will be required to complete daily work duties. Use of Outlook e-mail will be essential to enable communication with Children and Family Services staff, co-workers, and supervisor. Familiarity with Economic Assistance, or Child Welfare Services or Income Maintenance Foster Care programs is considered desirable. Experience with the use of Microsoft computer systems is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The ability to work in a high activity case load with multiple people form different social, economic, and cultural backgrounds will be essential. The successful candidate should possess outstanding verbal and writing skills to be able to communicate effectively with internal employees, and external community partners. Prior experience with Economic Assistance or Child Welfare services would be ideal for this position.
