Darling Ingredients is now seeking a Human Resources Employment Specialist to join our HR team at our regional office located in Winchester, VA. This position will be responsible for providing support to the Human Resources Managers in all functional aspects of HR with specific focus on recruiting and applicant tracking for multiple divisions across the company. This position will serve as a backup to other HR activities as assigned.

This position will be scheduled to work Monday-Friday, from 8:00am-5:00pm.

Job Summary:

To provide support to Human Resources Managers in all functional aspects of HR with specific focus on recruiting and applicant tracking for multiple divisions across the company. This position will serve as a backup to other HR activities as assigned.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Recruiting
    • Prepare and send vacancy requisitions to vendor (this includes local employment and training agencies)
    • Prepare and post vacancies to company Intranet and distribute to all divisions across the company
    • Assist divisions in determining best practices for increasing applicant flow and coordinate advertising efforts as needed (this may include; radio, billboards, rewriting ads, social media, etc.)
    • Identify career fairs/networking opportunities that align with company hiring strategies while supporting Affirmative Action goals and EEO compliance
    • Audit vacancies for internal integrity to ensure EEO, ADA, AA compliance and make advertising adjustments as necessary as well as monitor applicant flow
    • Report and track all vacancies per division and report out to HRMs in Scorecard format
    • Perform new hire orientation and onboarding for new employees at the regional office as directed
  • EBE (applicant tracking system)
    • Set up and maintain job orders for company sponsored positions
    • Audit applicant data integrity and hiring manager activity ensuring compliance measures are met
    • Provide initial and ongoing user training and support as needed
    • Request new user system access and login credentials
    • Create and maintain training rosters in employee personnel file
    • HireRight (background screening)
    • Monitor background screening system daily and adjudicate candidate reports as necessary
    • Send past due adjudication tracking report to divisions and assist with processing as needed
    • Monitor division invoices and submit for approval and payment as required
    • Provide initial and ongoing training user training and support as needed
    • Review and approve all USIS termination reports for drivers
    • Update USIS termination records and make corrections to the records as necessary
  • Tenstreet (driver employment verification)
    • Review and respond to all DOT employment verifications in Tenstreet
    • Update DOT employment verification records in Tenstreet and make corrections as necessary
  • Other HR Activities
    • Review and file Employee Communication Reports
    • Review and respond to unemployment wage audits and other related requests as needed
    • Maintain scorecard of new hires/terms and report out to HRMs
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of human resource experience, recruiting experience required;
  • Thorough knowledge of equal employment opportunity laws, ADA, and other government compliance regulations that affect job recruitment;
  • Knowledge of HR recruitment strategies;
  • Excellent interviewing and general communications and writing skills;
  • Experience in administering human resource programs including but not limited to recruiting and vetting;
  • Excellent personal computer skills in a networked environment;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • High level organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field preferred;
  • PHR certification preferred;
  • Experience with Microsoft products and SAP is preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
Work Environment:
  • Typical office environment.
  • The noise level is usually moderate.
