Duties: This position will provide research administrative and financial management support to the Department of Dermatology. It is expected that s/he will oversee proposal development, budget development, and related pre-award activities for a diverse sponsor portfolio. This person will also manage post-award activities including but are not limited to account set up, the monitoring of grant expenditures for compliance and financial analysis, and grant closeout. Duties include the generation of monthly financial reports for investigators and departmental leadership, meeting with investigators to discuss and advise on issues related to their portfolio, assisting in the preparation of effort reports, and maintaining of salary grids in coordination with the payroll coordinator.
In addition to the above, the Grants Manager B will work more independently and actively participate in specific projects, including the annual budget submission. S/he will manage complicated grants including but not limited to program projects, training grants, and large projects with multiple subcontracts. Moreover, it is expected that the Grants Manager B candidate will have a greater grants management experience than the Grants Manager A candidate, such that s/he can make greater contributions, including engaging in strategic planning.
The Grants Manager will report to the Senior Research Administrator in the department and act as a liaison to the Perelman School of Medicine administration and Research Services offices. This position will have a dotted reporting line to the PSOM Office of Research Support Services.

Qualifications: Grants Manager A - Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of grant administration/accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Grants Manager B - Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of grant administration/accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Both: Strong proficiency in university financial and research administration systems is preferred. Must have the ability to work independently and possess excellent written, organizational, and communication skills.
