Mercer is seeking a Government Contract Compliance Specialist. The Government Contract Compliance Specialist will be part of the GHSC Contracts Team in supporting RFP efforts and both prime/subcontract compliance initiatives.

The Government Contract Compliance Specialist is part of our Government Human Services Consulting (GHSC) team. The right candidate can be based in one of our D.C., Phoenix, Atlanta, Minneapolis offices or Remote.

What can you expect?

  • Compliance audits and monitoring of current prime contract and subcontract agreements for adherence to contract and data security/privacy requirements.
  • Assist with resolution plans to resolve any compliance issues OR identify potential challenges while thinking strategically and creating solutions to ensure contract compliance.
  • Develop and manage policies and procedures related to GHSC contract compliance.
  • Mentoring of compliance initiatives with Project Teams.
  • Assist in maintaining contract databases.
  • Assist in tracking and maintaining subcontractor socioeconomic status in order to meet state contract percentage/utilization goals.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Assist in vendor onboarding by determining appropriate flow down clauses and determination of vendors' ability to meet appropriate security requirements. Monitor for compliance.

We will count on you to:
  • Support Mercer Client Managers and Business Leads and provide contract information security compliance advice and counsel to internal stakeholders at all levels as required.
  • Support the development, design and implementation of Mercer Government compliance of processes and procedures in data security infrastructure.

What you need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in a related contract compliance management discipline in the public sector and/ or industry serving government sectors where you are able to demonstrate a proven track record of coordinating teams to deliver commercial outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suites, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively with attorneys.
  • Technical review experience related to contractual data security terms and conditions and other contractual requirements.
  • Must be willing to work additional hours at short notice as needed to meet department goals. The work will, at times, require extended and irregular hours to perform essential duties.
  • Will possess the ability to handle multiple projects and competing, shifting priorities, make decisions professionally and effectively. Adapting and responding quickly to changing work situations as well as having the capacity to deal with pressures and occasional setbacks will be crucial.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Awareness of the impact and relevance of IT security standards on the firm's ability to comply with state and federal contractual requirements. Relevant standards may include, but are not limited to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) cybersecurity requirements, the Minimum Acceptable Risk Standards for Exchanges (MARS-E), and other state requirements as identified in various contract documents.
  • Ability to exercise discretion with confidential/ sensitive issues.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Diplomacy with peers and internal clients in handling challenging situations.
  • Resourceful problem solver.

The National US average range for this role is$64,800-$97,200.The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications & education. We do not anticipate candidates hired into this role would immediately earn a salary at or near the top end of the range however, such a decision will be dependent on a case by case basis.
