Job Description

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. has an "immediate" need for a full-time entry level individual to be a part of a field crew that performs traffic data collection mainly throughout southern New Jersey (Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Salem, Atlantic, Cape May counties) and occasionally throughout central and northern New Jersey. The position is full-time with frequent overtime and includes occasional weekends, early mornings, and late evening, if the schedule requires.

  • Installation and removal of traffic count equipment
  • Perform manual turning movement traffic counts
  • Download data from count equipment
  • Track and organize all data and maintain all equipment.
  • Ability to take pictures with a camera
  • Ability to drive a cargo style van for a majority of the workday
  • Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions include cold, heat and rain
  • Possess physical agility for frequent bending and lifting for approximately 3 hours minimum up to 8 hours a day
  • Ability and situational awareness to work in a high activity environment
  • Ability to use GPS to locate count locations
  • Ability or willingness to learn to use of various hand tools and power actuated tools


  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and direction given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, safety glasses/goggles, and/or masks while working
  • Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
