Role Summary/Purpose

The External Communications Leader is a key member of the global communications team, responsible for driving visibility of the global Water Technologies & Solutions business unit with external audiences. This individual will be responsible for public relations, social media and thought leadership activities, working closely with the executive team and colleagues around the world. Reporting into the Global Communications Director, the chosen candidate will lead strategy, content development and execution of communications across several external channels.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Work with business leaders and commercial organization to identify news, including contract wins, product launches and awards

* Lead development of press releases, news briefs, case studies and other content with support of agencies and external writers

* Lead social media strategy and content development for corporate blog, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube, with agency support

* Manage relationship with public relations / social media agency

* Develop strategy for executive thought leadership, including speaking engagements, social media posting, media interviews, etc.

* Support crisis communications and issues management as needed, working closely with the Global Communications Director

* Liaise with SUEZ Group communications team on timing and content of press releases

* Ensure consistent tone and messaging across all communications, ensuring that key themes are represented as frequently as possible

* Coordinate with regional communicators to ensure global messages are adapted and shared regionally, and work to amplify regional stories where applicable

* Track and manage a portion of the global communications team's budget, working with finance to ensure vendors are onboarded and paid in a timely manner

* Reinforce the company's culture, vision and values of collaboration, inclusiveness, diversity, integrity, quality and safety at all levels

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • At least 7 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and constituents
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (<10% of time)

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in a global company preferred
  • Experience with B2B industrial company(s) preferred
