A DAY IN THE LIFE

The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for performing laboratory procedures under the direction of the Laboratory Technicians and Manager. This position will assist in maintaining a clean laboratory space while supporting other field and lab personnel to ensure quality data is collected and reported.

As a key member of the stack team, this role will be responsible for a full range of duties including:

  • Clean laboratory glassware
  • Prepare laboratory equipment kits for us in field tests
  • Maintain clean laboratory areas
  • Maintain organized records of sample preparation and analysis
  • Assist field testing teams in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
  • Work with field crews on-site with sample preparation and recovery
  • Receive environmental samples collected from field testing
  • Prepare samples for analysis
  • Prepare reagents for lab use and/or shipment
  • Perform gravimetric, titrimetric, and other analytes
  • Interpret and document data obtained from analysis
  • Calibrate laboratory instruments
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or related field is preferred
  • High School diploma is acceptable where experience and related skills can be demonstrated
  • 0-2+ years of general laboratory experience required
  • Proficient with Google and Microsoft office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability/willingness for occasional overnight and local travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, this position may require the individual to work rotating shifts assignments, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Some shifts will require working alone
  • Must have the ability to lift 50-60 pounds using Company provided equipment
  • Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening.
  • Valid driver's license
