Gibbs & Cox is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our organization.

Location: Fully Remote

We are seeking a highly motivated and focused Mid to Senior Level Electrical Engineer to support a wide range of marine engineering projects. Duties include design of, and changes to, shipboard medium and low voltage power systems.

General Duties

  • Perform calculations applying electrical engineering principles, techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Develop test procedures to ensure component and system performance.
  • Execution of design and other studies, creation of design products (drawings, calculations, and reports), and preparation of briefings to higher authority.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of electrical analyses and other engineering documentation.
  • Work independently (with moderate supervision), or on project teams
  • Client interface, at an appropriate level.
  • Manage project schedule and technical product development.

Minimum Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship and must be eligible to be granted a security clearance if required.
  • BS or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering Degree.
  • 4-8 years of marine electrical design experience
  • Must have : Electric Plant product development with Electric Plant distribution system experience and knowledge of commercial and military standards for Electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience with power system design software preferred (i.e., ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower)
  • Perform calculations applying related engineering principles, techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills.
  • Demonstrated Interpersonal Skills as a member of a Collaborative multidisciplinary team.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Control systems experience is a plus
