The Ecommerce Copywriter will report to the Senior Manager, Creative Services and will have the option of working remotely with periodic travel to our company headquarters in Winston-Salem, N.C however working in the Winston-Salem, NC at least 3 days is preferred. This position will create engaging, clear, and persuasive copy for all HBI brands (Champion, Hanes, Maidenform, Bali, etc.) ecommerce sites. The ideal candidate is an amazing writer, analytical thinker, and detail-oriented editor who works well in a self-directed environment and has a passion for apparel. You'll work closely with the ecommerce team and designer(s) to generate new strategies and concepts for marketing campaigns, new products, new technologies, brand collaborations, and seasonal initiatives. The ecommerce copywriter will create impactful and compelling story-telling copy across all consumer touchpoints.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the global brand tone of voice in line with brand creative and strategic vision in all digital channels.
  • Develop and maintain the brand's voice standards, category-specific product copy guidelines, and best practices related to interpreting direction and technical information and turning into persuasive copy and story-telling concepts.
  • Determine unique selling angles for products based on product class, materials, design/style, and features, working with marketing and merchandising teams to maintain accuracy and integrity of product information. Frequently requires research of competitive sites.
  • Collaborate and maintain open lines of communications with the Product Copy team, and primary stakeholders to understand the message, brand voice and target audience. Includes prioritizing projects and reporting on progress, allocating resources, and driving innovation and efficiency in our workflow and processes.
  • Serves as a liaison between copy process and final production of site elements, ensuring that the product is high quality as well as cost effective.
  • Other tasks include but are not limited to best-in-class ecommerce site copy, support for omnichannel initiatives, and packaging.
  • Continuously develop copywriting skills and resources to retain creative and technical expertise in the industry that is essential to HBI growth.
  • Do all the above in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are daily, and the volume of work is high.
  • Candidate must provide relevant copy samples and/or an online portfolio.

Qualifications

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience required
  • 3-5 years of experience working with eCommerce B2C and eCommerce retailer environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO, creative writing, and grammar principles with proven proficiency in copywriting and proofreading.
  • General knowledge and understanding of content strategy best practices.
  • Previous experience working within an enterprise-class Product Information Management system (e.g., Salsify) is desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Office applications
