To assist with the oversight and direction of dental services at Compass Health Network as prescribed by the policies and procedures designated by the Board of Directors, Executive Vice President/Chief Medical Officer, and in accordance with State, Federal and local requirements.


• Supervise the duties and performance of the assigned dental providers
• Monitors productivity requirements and takes necessary steps to ensure that the clinic providers are meeting those requirements
• Assists in the provision of continuing education, on-the-job training and the orientation of new clinical staff as requested
• Helps design, develop, and implement appropriate Dental Department policies, protocols and procedures which are in compliance with the most current accepted professional standards
• Participates in periodic evaluations of all Dental Department licensed providers and staff
• Responsible for personal as well as Departmental full compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and center rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures governing the practice of dentistry
• Participates in recruitment/retention activities of the corporation as necessary
• Participates in Dental Department meetings and supervises the implementation and operation of Dental QA program
• Review patient satisfaction surveys and recommend modifications
• Review all patient complaints as they relate to dental areas of oversight
• Leads the peer review process and ensures that all providers participate and complete the reviews as necessary. Responsible for communicating results and trends to participants as necessary
• Participate in dental program meetings
• Advocate and serve as a liaison for Compass in the community
• Assist in work assignments development and scheduling professional duty hours
• Provide dental services; Examines individuals requesting care, diagnoses their dental/oral conditions, prescribes and carries out, or directs others in carrying out, appropriate dental/oral treatment, or refers individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines
• Assure after hours call coverage
• Records patient-dentist transactions as they occur in the patient's dental record so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient and the care or treatment provided
• Ensures excellent customer service by all providers in the Dental Department
• Participates in meetings and audits with external stakeholders as a representative of the Dental Department as requested by Executive Vice President-Chief Medical Officer
• Conform to the rules and regulations of the clinic and governmental entities
• Assume authority and responsibility as delineated by the Executive Vice President-Chief Medical Officer



• Graduate from an accredited dental school required
• Completion of an accredited general practice residency program is preferred


Computer literate in electronic mail, word processing, and office management system software


• Licensed Dentist in the state of Missouri
• CPR certification or ability to obtain
