Job Description

Remote: This position does not require employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work off-site on a permanent basis.

Within GM, Global Connected Services (GCS) focuses on providing world class customer experiences and maximizing the value delivered by connected vehicle services such as OnStar and SiriusXM. The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) operates to provide analytics, data and business intelligence support to businesses across the company. At the intersection of these two, the CDAO business facing team leverages both business and technical knowledge to deliver value to GCS. This position will partner with the business to represent the customer to the development team. A critical component of the role is to deliver insights that enable strategic decision making and future investment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide product vision and direction to the agile development team and create requirements in the forms of Epics, Themes, and Stories
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to refine requirements into small, well-articulated deliverables
  • Ensures user stories are ready for development, with well-defined expectations and acceptance criteria.
  • Gathers, manages, and prioritizes the product backlog.
  • Manage the delivery of complex projects that require involvement of cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate with business and IT leaders to develop plans for analytic projects that solve business problems and can be operationalized to drive tangible business value.
  • Communicate regularly with individuals both within and outside of our team, managing relationships and expectations
  • Initiates and facilitates conversations between the business and technology teams to identify and refine scope, confirm acceptance criteria, and approve proposed technical solutions.
  • Translate the needs of business customers to technical requirements for Data Scientist, Data Engineering and Business Intelligence teams - this means knowing enough of both the business side and technical side to be effective, diving into data as necessary.
  • Support analytical projects from conception to completion with high velocity and quality, be cognizant of status, roadblocks and pace of project throughout and escalate as necessary to ensure success and on-time delivery to business partners.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner in support of Advanced Analytics, Business Intelligence or Analytics teams.
  • Experience successfully driving end-to-end delivery of data and intelligence solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of agile process and principles.
  • Proven experience working with complex data and analytics projects as the primary liaison with business partners/leaders
  • Ability to develop & maintain relationships with business stakeholders, partially through accountability, following up on requests and delivering on commitments. Have the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure project success.
  • Thrives in a collaborative atmosphere and believe in the power of innovation through differing viewpoints
  • Ability to quickly ramp up on new domains and understand business needs
  • Strong business domain knowledge - customer experience, marketing research, business analytics, sales/marketing analytics
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualification:
  • Formal training in SAFe Agile methodology
  • SAFe Agilist Certification
  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager Certification

Compensation:

The median level of salary compensation for this role is $109,000.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
