POSITION SUMMARY

The Pilot in Command or Captain position is primarily responsible for safe and efficient ground and in-flight operations of the aircraft. A successful Captain will exceed expectations while maintaining clear and effective communication with Leadership, Team Members, and dispatch.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administratively responsible to the Chairman/CEO
  • Pre-planning and preparation for all flights: aircraft performance, fuel requirements, weather, and airport conditions
  • Conducts pre-flight inspection of aircraft
  • Operates company aircraft in flight and ensures the highest level of safety
  • Oversees maintenance: schedule maintenance intervals with provider.
  • Comply with all FAA regulations, Operational Specifications, and adhere to department operating procedures.
  • Maintain communications and coordination with assigned leadership, maintenance, and administration.
  • Utilize and maintain the airplane master schedule used for the purpose of flight scheduling
  • Maintain the flight log for the aircraft and adhere to FAA standards
  • Other duties as assigned by management or senior leadership.
  • On call, schedule will vary
  • Travel will primarily be the Mid-West, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.
  • Our dealerships are located in Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia.
  • Most flights are day trips supporting our dealerships and customers.
  • Prior year flight logs reflect a monthly average of 8 flying days per month with less than 10 overnight trips.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have logged a minimum of 4,000 hours of total time, including 2,000 hours in turbine aircraft, 2,000 hours in multi engine aircraft and a minimum of 500 hours for Cessna Citation Jet.
  • ATP or Advanced Pilot Certificate.
  • Must reside in or around Knoxville TN.
  • Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Permit
  • Valid US Passport (must not be expired)
  • Current type rating for Cessna Citation Jet multi engine aircraft.
  • Eligible to fly internationally into any country or jurisdiction without restrictions
  • The ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and willingness to take on new challenges as the company grows.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • The work is typically done while sitting for a long period of time.
  • Will interact with passengers in a small space.
  • May be required to spend several days away from home each week while working.
  • May have irregular hours and be called to fly or notified of canceled flights with little notice.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds
