Job Description Summary
The research coordinator will serve a one-year role to supporting research focused on social and psychological aspects of the patient experience of Alzheimer's disease, which is being changed by advances in gene and biomarker diagnosis and discovery of disease modifying treatments. The research coordinator will support the research program by conducting literature searches, engaging in scholarly discussions, contributing to development and submission of research papers, coordinate data collection and analysis, creation of academic presentations and posters, and preparation of grant proposals (as part of the K award). Responsibilities also include compiling related study documents, organizing administrative documents, and coordinating Institutional Review Board (IRB) filings and inquiries. The individual will also work closely with the Principal Investigator, manager, and study team to identify problems and develop solutions. Implement approved changes to procedures as needed and monitor results and facilitate communication.

Job Description

Duties:

  • Manuscript development (i.e., literature searches, drafting text, developing figures), development of academic presentations and posters, engage scholarly explication of concepts and methods.
  • Assist with database management, conducting closely supervised analyses, and creating data tables.
  • Assist with logging and tracking administrative data.
  • Develop study protocols and materials, looking up research protocols, assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory documents to the University of Pennsylvania Institutional Review Board.


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

The qualified candidate will have excellent organizational, time-management and interpersonal skills. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite -- including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook -- is required. Basic knowledge of statistical software package (i.e., Stata, R, SAS, etc.) and qualitative package (i.e., NVivo) would be strengths. The research coordinator must be detail and accuracy oriented with ability to organize and execute projects consistently and complete tasks independently. The position requires initiative and excellent oral and written communication skills.

This position is contingent upon funding.
