Chief Engineer of Cardiovascular Simulation Lab

Focus:

  • Work in a biomechanical lab of a hospital to develop the application in the field of cardiovascular medical technology. The candidate will be responsible for leading multiple-task groups to build fast and scalable cardiovascular image processing software, as well as reconstruction, simulation, and evaluation platforms for cardiovascular clinical applications.
Detailed duties:
  • Lead a research group on simulation and experimental verification of cardiovascular disease and medical devices.
  • Lead a research group on cardiovascular image processing and reconstruction.
  • Negotiation and cooperation with lab members (engineers and medical doctors) and higher leaders.
  • Manuscript writing and publication, and grant application.
Skills required:
  • Long experience in biomechanical research on cardiovascular disease and medical devices. Ph.D. in Computer Science, Material Science and Engineering, Biomechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Highly experienced in finite element codes, including mechanical analysis (Ansys, Abaqus, Ls-Dyna...), and computational fluid dynamic analysis (Fluent, SimVascular, CFX...). Knowledge and experience of fluent-structural interaction (FSI) simulation are highly preferred.
  • Good experience in cardiovascular medical image (OCT, IVUS, CT...) processing, 3D modeling, and reconstruction. Must be skilled in one CAD software (Rhinoceros, Solidworks, Fusion 360...). Knowledge and experience of virtual reality and animation (with Maya, 3DMax...) are highly preferred.
  • Good experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Have skills in machine learning code (Python, R, Matlab...).
  • Good experience in leading a biomechanical engineering lab.
  • Good skills in English speaking and writing, good publications with noticeable citations.
