Job Summary and Scope:

THIS HYBRID ROLE- 2 DAYS PER WEEK IN OFFICE, 3 DAYS PER WEEK REMOTE - IS BASED OUT OF OUR OFFICE LOCATION IN ATLANTA, GA.

The Business and Data Analyst role offers the opportunity to combine data analysis, data modeling and business acumen together to generate actionable insights and drive important business decisions for a Fortune 500 company.

The role requires a demonstrated work history of a minimum of ONE year with Hands On experience using SQL, Python or R along and an interest in business domains such as marketing, pricing, product management, strategy etc. The Analyst will be working with Senior Leaders presenting all of their findings to support data driven decisions.

Depending on the skillset individuals in this role will also work with Veritiv's Sr. Data Scientists and Sr. Analysts in machine learning modeling.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with the business leader to define the scope of the problem
• Query data from data warehouse and Oracle and AWS
• Process data with tools such as Python Pandas, R, Excel, or Analytics Platform
• Conduct analysis on the data for the problem to solve
• Occasionally conduct statistical modeling or data science modeling
• Visualize the findings using Python packages, Excel, PowerPoint, or PowerBI etc.
• Presenting the findings to business leaders
• Other possible tasks include generating reports, report automation, dashboard design, modeling, competitive intelligence analysis etc.

Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:

• Master or bachelor's degree plus 1 to 3 years in business analytics, business administration, information technology, statistics, or other STEM degree
• Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms
• Basic understanding of database and SQL
• Experience in programming language such as Python, R, or VBA is desirable
• Understanding of statistical analysis
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership potential
• Data Science modeling is highly desirable but not required
• Basic knowledge of product management, market research

Working Conditions/Physical Requirement:

Monday/Thursday work in office, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday flexible.

Decision Rights:

Work closely with Commercial Excellence leadership to ensure projects are completed on time
