Location: West Sacramento, CA
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Biologics Researcher
Minimum education and experience-required:
• Bachelor's degree in life sciences (Biology, Ecology, Botany, Microbiology, or related field) or non-degree with minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in greenhouse experimentation or bacteriology/environmental microbiology.
• Skills desired:
o 1+ year experience with aseptic technique and basic bacteriology methods such as streaking for isolation, inoculation of broth, CFU enumeration.
o Greenhouse, horticulture, plant physiology experience such as setting up and maintaining controlled environment experience and downstream prep after harvest
o Capable of working independently and in a team environment, strong communication skills, strong organization, record keeping, and time-management skills
Preferences:
• Microbiology experience, preferably experience studying bacteria in environmental samples
• Molecular biology experience: gDNA extractions and quantifications from plant and soil samples, ability to run qPCR assay SOPs
