The Position
The BI Business Analyst is a cross functional role combining business analytics and technical dashboard and report development. Located in Warrenville, IL, the BI Business Analyst will support the Platform and each of its businesses, leading the development and evolution of financial and operational reporting via Microsoft's Power BI business analytics tool.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and own Power BI dashboards to enable departments and business leaders within the organization to make high quality decisions based on a clear presentation of operational and financial data
- Combine technical know-how and business acumen to understand the essence of business problems, and solve them with technical solutions
- Gather requirements and specifications from internal customers and users during the project development lifecycle
- Conceptualize, prototype, and deliver highly functional, interactive Power BI reporting
- Prioritize key objectives and management of critical issues and perform related job duties as needed and assigned
- Investigate and explain business processes and their impact on BI deliverables
- Recommend business process improvements and offer effective solutions to data problems
- Demonstrate adaptability to learn and use a variety of business systems and data tools
- Be passionate about solving business problems with data-driven solutions
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, computer information systems or other related field of study
- 4-7 years of experience developing reports and dashboards in business analytics solutions such as Microsoft Power BI
- Advanced skillset in Microsoft suite of products
- Entrepreneurial attitude towards the development and growth of data analytics within the organization
- Ability to work with internal customers to gather requirements, understand business process and define and implement outcome measurements
- Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and architectures
- Experience with Power Query and DAX
- Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven skillset with queries, report writing and presenting reporting products to users
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and decorum
- Occasional travel may be required.
