What You'll Do:

This person will be accountable to represent the Data Management function supporting all Therapeutic Areas within AstraZeneca's Biopharmaceutical Business Unit (BBU). The individual will lead multiple cross-functional business, operations, technology, and vendor relationships having a core responsibility for Specialty Care data operations, projects, platforms, and enhancements.

This person must bring a foundation of data management & business acumen related to Cardiovascular, Respiratory, & Immunology Biologics and Specialty Care (Commercial) Data Management. The candidate's thorough understanding and application of Specialty Care distribution data (Specialty Distributor (SD) & Specialty Pharmacy (SP)), data aggregation, and other key data sets (including IQVIA data offerings) will drive the continued development of SFO that maximizes the value of the expanding BBU portfolio. This individual must be a confident, solutions-oriented leader without being constrained by in-place process or precedent. The candidate will provide direction to a matrixed team including our primary support vendor and external & internal data providers on business priorities, timelines, and requirements. The person will also manage business stakeholder relationships and provide timely updates and status. The person will lead the identification, evaluation, interpretation, integration, aggregation, and visualization of different data sources across AZ platform(s) driving data quality, data accessibility, and key business capabilities. The candidate will act as subject matter expert for specialty data in support of stakeholder projects and SFO internal processes. The candidate will also partner with Market Access/Contract Operations/Trade Operations to provide data requirements in SP/SD contracts.

The candidate will have a secondary focus on Specialty Care Master Data Management (MDM) questions and best practices.

In summary, the candidate will be the AstraZeneca in-house go-to lead for Specialty Care data while optimizing the data management capabilities that drive our business, provide insights, and create the opportunity to improve the patient experience.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in a relevant field
  • 4+ years pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience - Specialty Care experience required
  • 4+ years of Specialty Care Commercial Data Management and/or related experience.
  • Experience working in a Data Management, Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence and/or Analytics environment.
  • Experience across product life cycle (emerging, launch, in-line, mature)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and improve Specialty Care data management processes, tools and techniques (for Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distributor, Master Data Management)
  • Ability to lead and influence others in a matrixed organization to achieve desired results
  • Ability to define and handle deadlines plus identify and mitigate risks
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities
  • Ability, want, and purpose to transform and shape the future of commercial strategy and operations and the value we bring
  • Strong analytical skills with working knowledge of variety of secondary data sources and or primary data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony Health, Definitive Healthcare, etc.)

Preferred Requirements:
  • Respiratory Biologics experience preferred
  • Experience in Market Access/Managed Markets/Trade Operations a plus
  • Experience working with and optimizing "Buy and Bill/Contracts" Data a plus
  • Strong business and marketing acumen and excellent communication and interpersonal skills; consultative background preferred
