Job Description

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman has an immediate opening for an Associate in the firm's Washington, DC Environmental Practice who has 4 to 6 years of experience practicing environmental law. The candidate must have professional experience with the major federal environmental statutes, such as NEPA, the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, CERCLA, and TSCA. The ideal candidate will have experience with a range of matters including counseling and advisory matters, litigation and enforcement defense, and administrative rulemaking and appellate work. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, strong research and analytical skills, and the capacity to grow into new areas of legal practice. The candidate must adhere to the professional ethics and codes of conduct for the ethical practice of law.

It a requirement that the candidate have (at minimum) a bachelor's degree and a juris doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Excellent academic performance is highly valued. The candidate should be a member of, or eligible to become a member of, the District of Columbia Bar. All employment inquiries will be held in strict confidence.
