The Associate Scientific Operations Manager (ASOM) or Scientific Operations Manager (SOM) will work in a team-based environment to support R&D and project management. The ideal candidate will have a background and interest in bioanalysis, preferably with laboratory experience in a CRO setting in a GLP and/or GMP laboratory. The ASOM/SOM will use his/her scientific knowledge to implement and execute best practices for proper and timely execution of projects related to bioanalytical testing and BCS studies. Attention to detail, computer skills, and the ability to work within a team are key qualities

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's, Master's or a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences, chemistry or a related analytical field
  • 3+ years of analytical development and GLP bioanalytical testing experience
  • Working knowledge of preclinical drug discovery and development, with a focus on bioanalysis or biopharmaceutics
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Demonstrated mentoring and influencing skills
  • Excellent collaborative, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with regulatory interactions and guidelines relevant for bioanalysis
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide scientific guidance to internal team members and collaborators for GLP and non-GLP bioanalytical, BCS permeability, ADME profiling, pharmacokinetics, toxicokinetics, and preclinical testing for various drug discovery and development programs
  • Develop and execute plans fully integrated with pre-clinical research teams and strongly contribute to decision making at critical milestones based on quantitative principles
  • Remain current on global regulatory requirements (USFDA & EMEA) and industry trends related to bioanalysis, drug discovery and development
  • Manage internal team members and collaborators expectations with timely and relevant communications. Improve collaborative diversification and expansion in association with sales and marketing
  • Maintain accurate scientific/technical records in internal databases and a thorough knowledge of various regulatory and company processes
  • Coordinate internal projects to optimize scientific research findings and subsequent offerings
  • Efficiently and effectively interact with various teams on a daily basis including upper management, scientific teams, collaborators, project management team, vendors, legal, and accounting
  • Determination of accurate internal and external project timelines
  • Contributing to process development and organizational improvement for the Operations Team as a whole
  • Tracking of metrics to improve production and
  • Possess a strong ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions that encourage profitable company growth
  • Perform other duties as directed by management
