General Description / Primary Purpose:

We are seeking a candidate with experience in Anatomy and Physiology lecture and laboratory teaching and preparation. The teaching assignment for this position will be to predominantly teach laboratory courses, but the applicant should have the ability to teach lecture as needed. The successful applicant will be able to act as course coordinator of the primary assignment, but the ability and willingness to teach a variety of courses as needed.

Job Function:

Responsibilities include coordination with professors, lecturers, graduate assistants, and the laboratory manager; preparation of materials for laboratory meetings; maintenance of course laboratories; development of new laboratory exercises and training and supervising graduate assistants. In addition, the successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and updating a laboratory manual, organizing grading assessments, teaching applicable sections, and contributing to departmental governance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in biology or a related discipline
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching
  • At least one year of experience teaching undergraduate laboratory courses
  • Excellent organizational and writing skills
  • Strong oral communication skills
