RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Alias Design Modeler in North Hollywood, CA.Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Single point of contact for design management
• Intuitive to new technology and applying them to improve existing techniques
• Aid in design and engineering problem solving
• Uses related digital equipment
• Responsible for creating Class A surface data for scale and full size exterior and interior models of proposed corporate products
• Works involves a considerable amount of creativity and initiative
• Exercise wide latitude for independent judgement with only moderate supervision given by management
• Creates new and improves existing digital models using other software programs
• Produces finished data suitable for renderings and animations
• Produces finished data suitable for RP part creation
• Assists in studio personnel in developing solutions to engineering and design problems
• Coordinates input from internal and external customer to better understand customer needs and or perceptions
• Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in area of expertise
• Comfortable with rapid modeling and iteration

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience as an Alias Design Modeler- 3+ year
• Knowledge in Alias, Photoshop, Illustrator, Maya, VRED - 3+ years experience
• Strong ability to translate sketches into finessed model with minimal design direction
• Knowledge in MS Office (Work, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Strong communication (oral and written) skills to effectively explain and resolve difficult situations to staff and management
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills to effectively develop solutions to engineering and design issues
• Strong leadership ability
• Ability to work under tight timelines and handle multiple assignments at once
• Strong ability to create production math models using high tolerance specifications
• Ability to create accurate math models from scan data
• Ability to create high quality photorealistic renderings
• Creative background with strong emphasis in graphic and digital applications
• Areas of expertise and knowledge in NURBS modeling, Sub-d modeling, polygon modeling, rapid prototyping, NX, surfacing class A, surfacing class B, Animation, Dynamo (parametric design)
• Past experience with clay (optional)

Required hard skills:

• Experience in traditional Alias surfacing (Nurbs surfacing)
• Showcar build or production build experience
• Experience in creating VRED renderings (or comparable visualization software)
