This position is responsible for working in/at our front gate, security gate or metal detection areas as well as our associate entrance booth and other guest entrance gates for the park. A majority of the job is monitoring the entrance and exit of guests and associates by checking identification, performing bag checks and metal detection screenings. Guest service is a high priority for this job as the position requires constant interaction with guests and associates alike. Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED is preferred, but not required.
- Possess a valid state/provincial Driver's License.
- Ability to undergo training and pass examinations as needed.
- Ability to demonstrate positive public relations skills.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
- Ability to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
- Monitor and prevent unauthorized entry into park or restricted areas.
- Monitor and operate park's security, safety and access control systems.
- Observe and check departing personnel and vehicles to guard against property loss.
- Provide high visibility patrols of buildings and grounds of the park to provide reasonable protection of the park's property, assets, guests and associates.
- Perform walk-through and hand held metal detection functions to help prevent weapons or prohibited items from entering the park.
Ability to interact and remain calm with guests or associates in a all types of situations.
- Monitor, enforce and correctly report violations of park rules and applicable state laws.
- Assess, resolve and contain situations and take appropriate action based upon policies and training.
- Perform crowd control duties during special events.
- Give verbal directions and assist guests and associates, including lost and/or separated guests.
- Communicate using a two-way radio and/or telephone.
- Call for assistance and respond to emergency situations.
- Write legible, timely, concise and accurate statements or reports for incidents and investigations.
- May assist with traffic direction and control in the parking lot.
- Provide guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and perform all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
- Meet Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
- Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
